I wrote a book!

When I was at school, I wrote in my journal that I wanted to one day be a published author. It’s a dream I’ve had for decades, and yet I never quite had the right topic to write about. That was, until 2022.

After the COVID-19 pandemic, a lot of people’s priorities changed. One that I noticed trending in both my friendship group and with clients was the cancellation of regular therapy sessions or longer periods of time between sessions. Not for lack of desire, but instead because people could no longer prioritise the funds or the time to see their own therapists.

I thought: ‘What we need is a book with therapy tools and insights that people can learn from when they can’t make it into the therapy chair’.

And then I thought: ‘I could make that book’.

Just over 12 months later, Paperback Therapy was born. It’s around 60,000 words of therapist-approved advice, exercises and tools to master your mental health and self-efficacy. It’s the book I wish I had when I was struggling with my own mental health in 2001, and 2010, and 2021. It’s a culmination of working weekends and nights on a passion project I feel so strongly about. It’s a resource I hope you will gift to loved ones when they are struggling.

It’s a book I wrote for you.

Now the book is available on pre-order, I have a new dream: to see it in your hands, well-used.

I want to see your favourite highlighted paras, Post-It notes sticking out at all angles, notes scrawled in the margins as you learn about yourself, and the (beautiful) spine bent and worn. I want to see you learning about mental health and mastering your mental wellbeing at your own pace.

The book is not a substitute for therapy, but it will give you the tools to help you master your mental health.

Pre-order Paperback Therapy here and get a free PDF of preview exercises when you send your pre-order receipt to info[at]baretherapy[dot]com[dot]au.

I so hope you love it.
